Southeastern Oregon
When cooler temperatures arrived this September, friend Andy & I headed out to explore the Owyhee Canyonlands of Southeastern Oregon. The area's fantastical volcanic towers and gorges were beautiful, especially when accented by the blooming rabbit brush. However, we found it difficult to capture this beauty photographically, and the flies were oppressive. So, we headed back toward Bend after 3 days and on the way we visited the Alvord Desert, Steens Mountain, and the Pete French Round Barn.
