2008 South America Trip
We had another great trip to South America this winter. Here is a brief summary of our travels:
- Flew to Bolivia and spent 10 days exploring parts of that country – LaPaz, the pre-Inca Tiwanaku ruins, the Copacabana area of Lake Titicaca, and the "Southwest Circuit" out of Uyuni;
- Spent 4 days in the Atacama Desert region of northern Chile. This was sandwiched in the middle of the Bolivian SW Circuit, but is presented separately on this website;
- Spent a couple of days in Quito, Ecuador, before cruising around the Galapagos Islands for a week;
- Spent a week in the principal Inca region of Peru – Cusco, Machu Picchu, and the Puno area on Lake Titicaca.
Pictures for each trip segment can be found in the galleries below. Because the number of photos is pretty large for each trip segment, I also have chosen a much smaller, "Some Favorites" set for each segment – for those of you with limited time or interest.
