Lake O'Hara, 2026

This past winter, Lake O'Hara Lodge again offered us a summer stay in one of their lake cabins. Given how difficult it is to secure a reservation (click here for that story), and how much we enjoy staying there, we happily accepted. This year's five night stay was in mid-July, only a few weeks after the winter's heavy snow had melted. As a result, springtime was in full display, with flowers (& mosquitos), and the experience was again extraordinary. It wasn't as spectacular as our 2024 Fall colors visit, but above last year's excellent mid-summer stay. The photo evidence is shown below!

This year we hiked 3 of the 4 lake-filled areas around Lake O'Hara and the gallery presents them in the order we hiked them: the Opabin Plateau, the Oesa drainage, and the Lake McArthur trail (area map). And, per some requests, I've included images of the main Lake O'Hara Lodge at the end of the gallery.

And our fingers remain crossed that we're invited back next year.
