Painted Deserts
The 5-day Marc Adamus photography workshop was entitled "Painted Deserts" and was to focus on photographing the Southwest's colorful badlands using a drone. Andy and I had purchased DJI Air 2S drones and were excited to learn to use them. As for most of Marc's workshops, there was only a vague itinerary, with weather and landscape conditions dictating actual locations. We ended up visiting:
- Smoky Hollows badlands, Glen Canyon NRA
- Paria Mesa badlands, between Page and Kanab
- Arizona's Painted Desert near Winslow
- Two San Rafael Reef badland areas, near Factory Butte & Muddy Creek
- Three sandstone tower locations east of Moab
All the badlands (aka painted desert) images are below. The sandstone tower images have their own, separate gallery.
