Coffin Mountain
The Bear Grass in the Oregon Cascades Range has been amazing this June and Coffin Mountain has historically had some of the best displays. So I've been aiming to get there for some time but the weather has been extremely hard to predict, with sunrise and sunset forecasts being especially unreliable. I finally decided to ignore a mediocre forecast and just go. Well, I'm so glad that I did -- the flowers were fantastic and weather was pretty good for photography! I hiked up before sunrise via headlamp and had a great few hours all to myself. I had planned to also shoot the sunset, but a dense cloudcover developed by noon.
