Joshua Tree National Park
After a long rainy drive down from S.F., I boondocked in Starr just outside the Twentynine Palms north park entrance. In the morning I drove to the park's Cholla Cactus Gardens for a great sunrise photography session. The day was then spent exploring the entire park, with the Keys Viewpoint overlooking the Palm Springs-Indio Valleys being the day's highlight. I later returned to the Cholla Gardens for both the sunset and sunrise, with an intervening camp in the park's small, beautiful Belle Campground.
