Fes

Fez-el-Bali, the old Medina in Fes, was my favorite stop on the trip – this kilometer-square area is a maze of narrow passages interconnecting various religious, residential, & commercial neighborhoods. There are produce, meat, wood woodworking, leather, and metal working markets scattered about. And there are no cars, at all – hand & donkey carts are the only means of transport. Because of this, the rennovation of our Karawan Riad took 6 years as debris and materials were painstakingly moved.
