Ranthambore Tiger Reserve
Our Art Wolfe photography group took the train from Delhi south to Ranthambore Tiger Reserve for two days of tiger "shooting". Ranthambore is known for its rich population of tigers, so we were hopeful of getting a sighting or two. The reserve is divided into eight zones, each having a separate daily quota of visitors. Our group was divided across 4-5 jeeps, with each assigned a different zone for the morning and evening sessions. So it is very much a crapshoot whether you see tigers, but I was extremely fortunate to sight a tiger on each of my four outtings! And I even sighted the very elusive sloth bear – in fact, a mother with two cubs.
