Arumeru River Lodge, Arusha (October 2)

After arriving late in Arusha, Tanzania, we spent a relatively quiet day of acclimatizating at nearby Arumeru River Lodge. It is located in a wet and verdant agricultural area, where many streams (aka rivers) flow down from nearby 14,000' Mt. Meru. Although little of the original rainforest remains, a preserve has been established next to the lodge, which is being rehabilitated. We spent about 3 hours exploring it with our Masai guide, David.
