White Pocket, October 12-13
After exploring South Coyote Buttes' Cottonwood Cove, Bob & I drove to White Pocket, 5 miles to the east. The road was through very deep sand – our 8" of clearance was barely enough! We spent the next 24 hours exploring the fascinating swirling sandstone formations, surrounded by incredible white sandstone "pillows". We were extremely lucky that it hailed and rained hard a few hours after our arrival, completely filling the many water pockets which dot the area!
