The Burr Trail, October 14

After failing again to secure a permit into The Wave, Bob & I headed north toward Capitol Reef National Park, via Cottonwood Canyon Road and the Burr Trail. We reached Upper Muley Twist (at the top of the Burr Trail) right at sunset. The next morning we drove up the Upper Muley Twist creekbed to the trailhead for the spectacular Strike Valley Overlook, where you look out over the incredible geologic folding of the Waterpocket Fold.
