On August 16-17 I hiked into Canyon Creek Meadows for one night, at the east foot of Three Fingered Jack. I lucked out and hit the wildflowers in the upper meadow at their peak — lush carpet of lupine, with indian paint brush sprinkled in. Bugs were pretty bad, but a good breeze kept them away most of the time. I can’t believe that I live less than 3 hours from a place like this (1 hour drive+1-2 hour walk).
