I just added 3 images taken this year to my “Some Favorites” Gallery — two of the tarn at the base of Broken Top and one of Lower Oneonta Falls in the Columbia Gorge.

Pictures from Oneonta Gorge / Columbia Gorge
While in Portland last week, I spent part of a day exploring Oneonta Gorge, just east of Multnomah Falls in the Columbia Gorge. It was a cool and overcast day so I pretty much had the area to myself for 3+ hours. It was a magical time, well worth wading through cold waist deep water and standing in knee deep water for much of time. Images are here: Oneonta Gorge Gallery

Pictures from Canyon Creek Meadows/3 Fingered Jack
On August 16-17 I hiked into Canyon Creek Meadows for one night, at the east foot of Three Fingered Jack. I lucked out and hit the wildflowers in the upper meadow at their peak — lush carpet of lupine, with indian paint brush sprinkled in. Bugs were pretty bad, but a good breeze kept them away most of the time. I can’t believe that I live less than 3 hours from a place like this (1 hour drive+1-2 hour walk). Pictures from trip to The Palouse, Washington
I spent 6 days in early June on a “photography safari” to The Palouse area of SE Washington. This is an incredibly photogenic area of randomly rolling hills of multi-colored and -textured farm fields. The pictures and more info can be found here: The Palouse Gallery
