Pictures from Canyon Creek Meadows/3 Fingered Jack
On August 16-17 I hiked into Canyon Creek Meadows for one night, at the east foot of Three Fingered Jack. I lucked out and hit the wildflowers in the upper meadow at their peak — lush carpet of lupine, with indian paint brush sprinkled in. Bugs were pretty bad, but a good breeze kept them away most of the time. I can’t believe that I live less than 3 hours from a place like this (1 hour drive+1-2 hour walk). Pictures from trip to The Palouse, Washington
I spent 6 days in early June on a “photography safari” to The Palouse area of SE Washington. This is an incredibly photogenic area of randomly rolling hills of multi-colored and -textured farm fields. The pictures and more info can be found here: The Palouse Gallery
Pictures from Utah Mountain Biking
Between April 24 & May 4, 2010, Larry Dully and I had a mountain biking adventure in Eastern Utah and Western Colorado. A description of the trip, together with pictures, can be found here: Utah Mountain Biking Gallery
Grand Gulch Trip
In mid-May I went on a 10 day photography and hiking trip to southern Utah. The trip was with my good friend, Bob, and included 5 days of backpacking into Cedar Mesa’s Grand Gulch to explore some of its hundreds of Anasazi (aka Ancestral Puebloian) ruins. It was a fabulous trip — trip report and pictures are here: Grand Gulch Gallery
