Bagan

Bagan is an ancient city in central Myanmar that was the seat of Asian Buddhism in the 12th and 13th centuries. During this time, about 10,000 temples, pagodas, and stupas were constructed within a 400 square mile area, and almost 3,000 remain today. And they remain in remarkable condition, with many still used in Bagan's ubiquitous Buddhist daily activities.
